‘The Dog Lady’ dog training business was established in 2004 by Debi Coleman.
Debi is a nationally accredited Dog Behavioural Trainer and a Delta Canine Good Citizen ™ instructor. She is an accredited Temperament Evaluator with the Delta Society’s Pet Partner Program and the founding Coordinator of the Central West Delta Pet Partner Program.
Debi regularly attends professional development seminars, workshops and educational conferences throughout Australia. Debi is a professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) in Australia. The APDT’s motto is building better trainers through education.
Debi has recently obtained a Cert IV in Training and Assessment and is currently teaching Cert II in Animal Studies for the TAFE NSW Western Institute. Debi was also the Western NSW Coordinator for the SPOT Program (Safe Pets Out There) teaching dog bite prevention and animal care to 5 -7 year olds from 2007 – 2009.
Debi is an experienced presenter and is able to develop presentations for any professional group, teaching facility or community organisation addressing specific needs as required.
Delta Canine Good Citizen™ Instructors are highly trained and are nationally accredited. They use positive reinforcement training to train pet dogs to behave appropriately and calmly in everyday situations. They are bound by a strict code of ethics. Canine Good Citizen™ Instructors are united in their training methods and philosophy to use humane, positive reinforcement training techniques to produce informed, competent, caring owners with well socialized, well behaved dogs – good citizens on both ends of the lead.
Debi is currently assisting with tutoring and assessing students undertaking the CGC Course.
